    FAMILY:

Judy Dunlap is the proud mother of two daughters, Liana, 32, and Margo, 28.  Since education has always been an important part of Judy’s life, she is especially proud that both daughters received letters of acceptance to the University of California at Berkeley, out of high school.

Liana chose to attend the University of California at Irvine where she received a B.A. Degree in Political Science.

She went on to achieve an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University and is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Margo obtained her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and is currently a Management Information Systems graduate student.

    FAMILY TREE:

Judy's parents, Berneice and Cornelius W. Frields, moved to Inglewood in 1939 and never left.  In 1965, when the city took their property through eminent domain to put in a park, Mr. and Mrs. Frields purchased another home in Inglewood, this time in District #2!

Judy's father was active in many youth organizations:  president and board member of Sportsman Little League, Pony League Baseball, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts.  After retirement, he was a volunteer at West Los Angeles College and the Community Service Division of the Inglewood Police Department.  He was a lifelong Mason, serving as Master of Hawthorne Masonic Lodge #647 in 1956 and was a member of the Al Malaikah Shrine in Los Angeles, before passing away in 1992.

Judy's mother, Berneice Frields, was one of the first women hired during World War II in the airplane parts division of Northrop Aircraft where she worked until retiring in the late 1950s.  In her golden years she became a student of genealogy with a keen interest in the civil war period of 1861-65, tracing her ancestors as combatants on both sides of that conflict.   She was a recognized research expert and received requests from all over the United States and Canada.  Her book,  The Bain Family of the Hudson Valley, 1700-1900 chronicling her lineage, was published in 1973.  Before passing away in 1996, at the age of 84, she proudly sat in Inglewood's City Council Chambers observing her daughter as she worked on behalf of the residents of the Second District!

Judy Dunlap is the youngest of four children. One sister, Gail DiBenedetto Consani, lives with her husband Aldo Consani in Florence, Italy.  Her other sister, Joyce Boucher, lives in Virginia and is the retired widow of the late Kenneth Boucher, a former Recorder and 1976 Potentate of the Al Malaikah Shrine in Los Angeles, who also served for many for many years on the board of the Midnight Mission and the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children, as well as numerous other philanthropic organizations.  Judy's brother, John Frields, is a retired civil servant, having worked for many years at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He served as a deputy director to the then Secretary of Defense, Dick Cheney.  John's wife Rozann (Krietzman) attended Gardena High School and they have three grown sons.
